Willoughby House
The site is located in a densely vegetated part of Sydney’s lower north shore, characterised by large quarter acre lots and two story free standing bungalows.
The client’s brief was for a two storey house with maximum access to the large sites garden surroundings whilst simultaneously preserving the family’s privacy.
The house is distinguished by a glazed entry vestibule leading through a fenestrated corridor to a large family living pavilion facing the back garden. To achieve integration with the site a “C” shaped ground floor plan was adopted containing a north facing central courtyard onto which all living areas open on too.
The house opens out onto six very different courtyards spaces suitable for private to less private use.
