Bombala War Memorial Swimming Pool

The swimming pool was erected in 1968 as a tribute to those who have served in defence of Australia.

Bombala is situated in the Snowy Monaro region on the banks of the Bombala River.

The council brief was to upgrade the facilities building and change rooms built in 2012 to comply with current standards.

The main project scope extended to the refurbishment of the remaining facilities including the existing 33m pool and the toddler pool, construction of a new pool plantroom building and undercover areas together with all pool concourses.

The idea behind the design approach was to create an impression of the shores of a beach in the concourse through the use of coloured concrete and a loose arrangement of furniture scattered throughout the new undercover areas.
